Soldiers
Memorial Gardens
Strathalbyn Soldiers Memorial Gardens in the
centre of Strathalbyn are an excellent place to enjoy a picnic lunch while feeding the
resident ducks. This lawned open space area is beautifully presented with gardens of
roses and enhanced by numerous historic features such as the Children's Bridge, War
Memorial and Rotunda. Public facilities include barbeques, playground and
toilets. A walk along the trail that follows the Angus River through
Strathalbyn reveals why Strathalbyn is renowned as the prettiest town in South
Australia.

Historic High Street
High Street is well known for it antique shops
appropriately set amongst some of the most historic buildings in South Australia. This
area offers numerous restaurants and cafes' making it the perfect place to browse for that
perfect collectable item and enjoy a fine meal and coffee in the ambience of early South
Australian settlement.

Rotary Duck Race
Rotary Club of Strathalbyn bring the Soldiers
Memorial Gardens to life by hosting the annual Duck Race. It's a great day for the whole
family, come and join in on the fun.

SLTA, Collectors, Hobbies & Antique Fair
Strathalbyn and Lakes Tourist
Association has hosted the annual Collectors, Hobbies and Antiques
Fair since 1990. Profits from this event have been distributed to various
community organisations since that time.

Strathalbyn Racing Club
The Strathalbyn Racing Club races approximately 12
times per year with the feature meetings being held in September, January, March and
May. Spoil yourself, enjoy a day at the races.

Strathalbyn Museum
The Strathalbyn National Trust Museum is in the former police station (built
1858) and courthouse (added in 1867). Features include several rooms set out in the style of the
Victorian era, a room reflecting changes in health care over the years, and a courtyard with very
high stone walls.
